Religious Education

St. Augustines Parish conducts a religious education program for children from Primary through Grade 8/9. Classes are held from September to May on Sunday mornings (except holidays) 10:00am 11:00am, following the 9:00am Mass. The Mass is also an essential element in the catechetical experience. All classes take place at the Glebe house located next door to St. Augustines Church. The program focuses on the childrens spiritual growth as well as preparation for the Sacraments of First Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation. In addition, we provide a Home School Catechetical Program for those students unable to attend our regular Sunday classes. Parents and non-parent parishioners teach in this program. Neither professional training nor prior teaching experience is required just a love of children and a willingness to help the younger members of our parish to grow in the knowledge of their faith. Any parishioner who would like to be involved with this ministry should contact Jennifer Paterson at 902- 275-4427 or via email.
